Urodzona w 1972 r. w Umlazi, Durban, RPA. Fotografka i aktywistka południowoafrykańska. Studiowała fotografię nMarket Photo Workshop in Newtown w Johannesburgu oraz Documentary Media at Ryerson University, Toronto (2009). Jest laureatką licznych nagród m.in. Prince Claus Award (2013); the Index on Censorship (2013); Les Rencontres de Bamako biennial of African photography (2009). Jej prace wystawiane były na 55. Biennale w Wenecji.
W nastrojowych, czarno-białych fotografiach ujawnia życie afrykańskich lesbijek. Od 2000 roku współtworzy Forum for the Empowerment of Women (FEW), organizację czarnoskórych lesbijek działający na rzecz zapewnienia bezpiecznego miejsca dla do spotkań oraz przeciwdziałającemu nienawiści wobec społeczności homoseksualnej w RPA, która przejawia się w tzw. „gwałtów naprawczych”, napaściach, przemocy.
